ALMA MATER

Go preach my gospel,” saith the Lord,
“Bid the whole earth my grace receive,
Explain to them my sacred word,
Bid them believe, obey, and live.”

“I’ll make my great commission known,
And you shall prove my gospel true
By all the works that I have done,
And all the wonders you shall do.”

“Go heal the sick, go raise the dead,
Go cast out devils in my name.
Nor let my prophets be afraid,
Though some reproach, and will blaspheme.”

“While you will follow my commands,
I’m with you
always world without end.
All pow’r tr
usted in my hands;
I can destroy, and can defend.”

A sending school into all the land,
We love thee Wayland forever stand,
Apostles to the farthest land,
Empowered by the Great I AM.

BENEDICTION HYMN

Go to the world! Go into all the earth.

Go preach the cross where Christ renews life’s worth,

Baptizing as the sign of our rebirth.

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Go to the world! Go into every place,

Go live the Word of God’s redeeming grace.

Go seek God’s presence in each time and space.
Alleluia, Alleluia!

Go to the world! Go struggle, bless and pray.

The nights of tears give way to joyous day.

As servant Church you follow in Christ’s own way.

Alleluia, Alleluia!

Go to the world, just as our Christ has said
Loving mercy, filled and justice lead
As Wayland Strong, we follow Christ who led
Alleluia! Alleluia!

IN THE LIGHT OF HIS LOVE

Let us walk in the light of His love,
Of the light that’s the lamp of His word,
Of the risen Christ who now reigns,

In the glorious shinning new day.

Chorus:
In the light of His love,
I am living His light where’ er I go.
In the light of His love,
I am walking in the light of the Lord.

With the gospel of the crucified, I’m walking,
With the pow’r of the resurrected Lord,
Preaching peace, hope, and love, and forgiveness;
And a light giving life in the Lord.

We are filled with light of His Splendor,
Image-likeness in Imago Dei,
In the world bright and tall as a lampstand!
We shall shine with the rays of His joy.

So, with lamps trimmed and burning we’ll see Him.

And our story will be victory,
In the light of His love, we will greet Him.
And the King in His fullness we’ll see.

We will dance in the light of His glory,
And the last dance reserved just for me,
There our Jesus gives rest from life’s labor,
In our palaces of glory and light.

FOR CHRIST, FOR THE CHURCH

Go and live my gospel, fully!
Everything that I have done.
Preaching only the full gospel.
Spirit-formed and overflow.

Refrain:

For a glorious church, woke, whole, and working,

Following our Exalted Head;

For a glorious church, woke, whole, and working,
For Christ, For the Church, Wayland!

Doing what our Lord commands us,
Empowered by the GREAT I AM!
Faithful to the Call of Jesus,
Pro Christi, Pro Ecclesia!

Going where our Savior leads us,
Going into all the Land,
As the Father sent our Savior
So, the Savior sendeth us.

Lifting high the blood-stained banner,
For our Liberations’ nigh!
Preaching Jesus Only, Always
Gaining our reward on high!
